The integrated initiative for preventing violence, abuse and discrimination against migrant adolescent girls and young women in Europe
HOME
The Integrated initiative for preventing violence, abuse and discrimination against migrant adolescent girls and young women in Europe is a two-year multidisciplinary project co-financed by the European Commission under its DAPHNE programme, and headed by the Faculty of Law of the University of the Basque Country.
Its main objectives are to examine and assess the forms of violence, and types of discrimination to which adolescent girls and young women born and raised in the European Union, but belonging to migrant families from South Asia and North Africa, may be vulnerable.
This project seeks to question the social dynamics as well as the laws and regulatory environments (and their normative assumptions) that govern the juncture where migrant issues and gender issues meet. In doing so, it hopes to develop concrete tools and recommendations which would be of use to researchers, policy-makers, NGOs. Aditionally, this project also aims to engage with the general public and specific target groups using innovative cultural and multimedia activities in order to create lasting awareness of some of this project's key issues.
